Echoworx announced today that Verizon Online will provide Secure DOX, which encrypts documents, to its small- and medium-size business customers. Verizon Online plans to offer its small- and medium-sized business customers a bundled service of email and document encryption later this year.
Small businesses are often unable to rely on an internal IT department, but want access to tools that will allow them to safeguard important data, such as intellectual property, customer records, contracts, human resource files, and highly sensitive negotiations. The document encryption service allows the user to encrypt files and folders and set permissions on who can access, read, and write to the file or folder enforcing security policies. All of Echoworx encryption products are simple to use. A user registers for the services, and downloads a single plug-in for Secure Mail to encrypt email and Secure DOX to encrypt their data.
