History

Founded in 2000, Echoworx was developing comprehensive encryption solutions well ahead of market demand and continues to add groundbreaking products and services to their offering for both the enterprise and SMB market.

As an early entrant in the encryption software field, Echoworx has had the time and resources to develop a full range of privacy products that are renowned for their high security standards, affordability and usability.

The Echoworx story began when company founder Michael Ginsberg invested in a small home-based company with an encryption concept that showed promise. Within six months of acquiring the technology, Echoworx began work on software redesign and commercialization of a product suite that would deliver affordable and easy-to-use encryption services for back end and end user applications.

From the outset, Echoworx’ strategy was focused on establishing partnerships with industry-leading security and privacy partners, as well as product globalization. Using a “white label” approach, Echoworx opted to market its technology under resellers’ brand names to generate the economies of scale needed for global expansion.

Today, its partners include leading security vendors, telecommunications organizations, hosted exchange providers, MDM players and more. By establishing those partnerships, Echoworx technology is now used by thousands of organizations worldwide, ranging from the governments of Portugal and Northern Ireland to Unilever and Moneris.

Echoworx is poised for exponential growth as the demand for credential management services as well as privacy and encryption solutions continue to grow:

  1. With the explosion of smartphones on the market, the consumerization of IT departments and employees embracing BYOD (bring your own device to work) enterprises need an easy solution to manage all these devices from one central point. mobilEncrypt ENDPOINT solves this problem.
  2. With the advent of social media, organizations today are looking for ways to issue valid and verifiable credentials. One way is to integrate with the Echoworx technology; they get the infrastructure without having to manage PKI and digital certificates in-house. For more see credential management services.
  3. New privacy legislation and associated penalties, along with recent high-profile privacy breaches have dramatically increased awareness and demand on the part of organizations to secure their day-to-day communications in order to prevent data leaks.
  4. Encryption technology has also come of age. Whereas it was once a complex and costly technology relegated to the realm of government agencies and healthcare facilities, newer solutions have made encryption more flexible, affordable and reliable.

While others offer modular solutions that address specific needs, Echoworx is the only company in the world that can serve as a one-stop provider of end-to-end functionality for businesses of any size, including gateway, desktop, portal and mobile encryption.  This unique ability to deliver affordable, proven, secure solutions that are easy to deploy and use, will play a key role in addressing encryption challenges moving forward.
