Over One-Third of IT Professionals Are Sending Sensitive Information Over the Internet Unprotected

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM–(Marketwire – April 24, 2012) -

A survey, conducted amongst visitors to London’s InfoSecurity Europe show last year revealed that 37 percent of this ‘security aware’ audience regularly send sensitive information via the internet without affording it any protection. The research, conducted by Echoworx – the leading provider of managed encryption services for complete enterprise email and data protection, also revealed that 44 percent of respondents, who confirmed they carry sensitive information on their mobile device, do so without encrypting the data.

Echoworx is looking forward to seeing a big change in these numbers for 2012. “With 86 percent of this technology savvy audience using their mobile devices for business last year, I wouldn’t be surprised if this number jumps closer to 100% when you consider that more organizations are embracing BYOD (bring your own device), and the ease with which users can browse the Internet and access email services via mobile devices,” says Michael Ginsberg, President and CEO, Echoworx.

Echoworx will be showcasing mobilEncrypt ENDPOINT, an on-the-device email encryption solution which enables mobile users to send and receive encrypted messages directly on their smartphone or tablet.

mobilEncrypt includes powerful administrator functions allowing IT administrators to easily provision and manage employee devices over-the-air (OTA) through their existing mail infrastructure without having to upgrade or displace any existing mail technology. Functions include easy to use enterprise tools for bulk enrolling users, revoking certificates, key recovery, and password recovery.

Users can send encrypted messages using their existing business email address to anyone in their address book. mobilEncrypt users receive encrypted messages directly in their inbox, while non-mobilEncrypt users receive an email notification, alerting them to pick up their encrypted message from a secure pickup center.

Users can read their encrypted messages on their mobile device or on their desktop computer. All messages are received and stored encrypted on the device and are available for archiving. Credentials are stored securely in the keychain ensuring that the data will not be compromised even if the device is lost, stolen or hacked.

To see a demo of mobilEncrypt or to try it yourself please visit Echoworx at InfoSecurity Europe at Stand H34.

“IT mangers are finding that MDM is becoming a mainstay in their mobile technology strategies. While MDM works—and works well—there is still more that can be added to the mix to turn a strong mobile security strategy into a rock solid one,” says Robby Gulri, VP Products, Echoworx.

Gulri adds, “Given the need and demand, the competition for MDM market share is heating up as a steady stream of vendors continue to populate the landscape. This is expected to lead to the inevitable upheaval and consolidation that happens within a new and burgeoning tech space. Ultimately, the winners will be those that can offer comprehensive, full-featured solutions to address all their security needs.”

BYOD（bring your own device(自分のデバイスを持ち寄る))を採用しており、実際のところ、販売されている新しいデバイスの多くはアンドロイドです。

New Partnership Legitimizes Android for the Enterprise Market

Atlanta, GA, February 14, 2012 – Echoworx, a leading provider of credential management and managed encryption services, has partnered with NitroDesk, Inc. a developer of the TouchDown™ email client, to deliver enterprise-grade credential management and encryption for Android devices.

NitroDesk is adding the Echoworx Security Cloud capability to its offerings to enable public key infrastructure (PKI) functionality and to support the rapid adoption of Android devices for business use, as Touchdown users will now be able to send and receive encrypted messages on their Android device.

“This relationship legitimizes Android for the enterprise customer,” says Ron Goins, Chief Operating Officer for NitroDesk. “Many corporations are embracing BYOD (bring your own device) and the reality is a large proportion of new devices sold are Android. The Echoworx Security Cloud will play a big part in extending the security model we have already built into TouchDown making Android use in the workplace a non-issue.”

According to Michael Ginsberg, Chief Executive Officer, Echoworx, “This is a major breakthrough for companies like NitroDesk. Rather than running their own PKI, they simply plug into ours and get all the security they need. Whatever people are using – whether it’s the TouchDown email client or any application that requires a password – it is clear that organizations need stronger forms of credential management to protect corporate usage and data.” Continue reading →

New Offering Enables Instant Implementation of Credential Management and Encryption Integration across All Platforms

Atlanta, GA, February 6, 2012 – Echoworx, a leading provider of credential management and managed encryption services for complete email and data protection opens its Security Cloud to the industry at large. For the first time ever, this world class PKI Infrastructure can be accessed by MDMs (mobile device management), MEAPs (mobile enterprise application platforms), cloud services, and other organizations. They simply plug into the cloud to enable PKI (public key infrastructure) integration over multiple platforms and devices.

“Just like organizations are tapping into the cloud for storage services and file sharing services, they can now do the same for credential management,” says Michael Ginsberg, CEO. “Whether the point of access is an exchange server, email, mobile device or cloud service, in today’s world there is clearly a need to issue user credentials to protect data across multiple forms and operating systems.”

Pushing credentials over-the-air, within a mobile or enterprise application without having to set up and manage an in-house PKI infrastructure is what the industry is asking for, adds Ginsberg. “We’ve already done the heavy lifting; the rest is simply plug-and-play.”

Many applications today support encryption but they stop short of managing credentials. Echoworx builds a bridge between its Security Cloud PKI infrastructure and enterprise applications eliminating the need for customers to develop individual credential management and encryption solutions.

Developers can use the Echoworx Developer Kit to access web services and manage user credentials directly from within their own applications.

The Kit includes tools, documentation and sample source code for instant implementation, resulting in world class credential management and encryption security services.

Atlanta, GA, October 13, 2011 –Echoworx, a leading provider of credential management and managed encryption services for complete email and data protection is pleased to announce a new reseller partnership with Avema Corporation, a global provider of telecom and wireless cost optimization services. Under the terms of the agreement, Avema will be adding Echoworx’ recently launched mobilEncrypt Endpoint solutions for mobile to its mobile device management (MDM) offerings.

According to Michael Ginsberg, Chief Executive Officer for Echoworx, “Mobile security has become a major focus as organizations try to secure the explosive growth of corporate information being accessed by mobile device users. As a leader in providing MDM solution sets, Avema is the ideal partner for Echoworx as they are experts in creating offerings that close the mobile security ‘loopholes’ plaguing IT managers today.”

Roger Yang, Chief Executive Officer for Avema Corporation sees the Echoworx platform as a significant value-add for its customers. “The classic problem for customers is the segmentation in mobile device usage, which makes it difficult to come up with a single MDM system that fits all user needs. Our role is to create MDM solutions that meet their business security needs through the integration of best of breed technology. That’s exactly where Echoworx makes perfect sense, because its encryption application can be downloaded and activated without having to retrofit devices or go through complex setups; and organizations can easily restrict corporate access to authorized users only. It’s good to know that with Echoworx, we are partnering with a future-thinking company.”

With mobilEncrypt ENDPOINT, iPhone, iPad and BlackBerry users can compose, send, download and receive secure, encrypted messages through their existing business email account.

Atlanta, GA, October 5, 2011 – Echoworx, a world leader in credential management and managed encryption services for complete email and data protection, has released a new white paper on new generation credential management technology for mobile devices. The paper, authored by Kai Cheung discusses the escalation of mobile usage and the unique challenges it creates for IT managers today.

As more users access cloud-based business applications and corporate information through their wireless devices, IT managers are hard pressed to find ways to implement controls that protect sensitive data. As an expert in system architecture for wireless, Cheung’s overview looks at the risks inherent in current mobile security strategies, the various options available and the role of credential management in remote security management.

The paper also offers a primer of critical security concepts such as credentials, digital certificates, cryptography and public key infrastructure (PKI), as well as how these corporate measures can now be adapted to meet the unique demands of the wireless user.

According to Cheung, “As the escalation of mobile devices and cloud-based applications for business usage grows, the need for more stringent, manageable security measures is paramount. Given the scope of the challenge, it is incumbent on enterprises to extend their credential management activities beyond the walls of the enterprise. This entails applying new technology approaches that are flexible, secure and easy to manage.”
