Echoworx Talking Security at Cloud & Cyber Security Expo London
Rafael Narezzi is a seasoned cybersecurity professional – having worked in a variety of roles, from a cyber-educator to his current role as a cybersecurity advisor and CISO within the UK’s sustainable energy sector. Rafael sat down with us at Cloud Security Expo London 2019 to discuss why social engineering attacks are so popular amongst hackers and how they manage to bypass even the most-secure cybersecurity systems by seemingly simple tactics.
While it may seem that hackers are always one step ahead of cybersecurity defenses, this is because organizations are reacting to incidents as they arise. Instead of employing a series of band-aid solutions and patches to shore up defenses, cyber-education can prepare frontline employees to anticipate attacks and proactively act upon vulnerabilities before they become security issues.
When it comes to investing in cybersecurity, there are two choices: pay for cyber-defenses now or pay more for a breach later. Board members need to be educated on the importance of investing in proactive cybersecurity measures and the drastic consequences a single data breach can have on organizational productivity and brand reputation.
