Echoworx offers flexible user authentication options for its Portal User feature, catering to varying usability and security needs. Users can log in traditionally with a username and password, customize password settings, or opt for seamless authentication through oAuth (social connectors) using existing credentials from platforms like Gmail or Office 365. Biometric authentication via FIDO2 standards provides an alternative, enhancing security, especially on mobile devices. Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security, which can be customized based on organizational preferences.

For heightened security, per-message level authentication prompts users to respond to message-specific challenges. Options include Sender Set, where the sender sets a challenge question, and Out Of Band verification, which uses a separate channel for communication. No Auth or direct open authentication simplifies inbound communication by allowing access via a link without creating an account, while SMS verification verifies recipients through SMS-based codes without account creation, ensuring secure message delivery.
