ECHOWORX RECOGNIZED IN 2020 GARTNER MARKET GUIDE FOR EMAIL SECURITY

The 2020 Gartner Market Guide for Email Security notes security and risk management leaders must ensure that their existing solution remains appropriate for the changing landscape.

TORONTOEchoworx is proud to be recognized in the Email Data Protection Specialists’ category in Gartner Market Guide for Email Security – published September 2020.

The new report, which provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges of protecting the confidentiality and integrity of email messages, recognizes Echoworx as a Representative Vendor for Email Data Protection Specialists.

“We are thrilled to be recognized by Gartner in this guide,” says Sarah Happé, Director of Client Engagement at Echoworx. “Choosing a secure email provider is a big decision for many organizations. My team are experts in helping them navigate this journey – ensuring they satisfy their security and compliance requirements while gaining a simple, fully branded customer experience.”

Echoworx offers comprehensive specialist help for organizations looking to keep pace with attackers. Our OneWorld Email Encryption Platform and dedicated team of experts are available to simplify and advise organizations on how to improve their customer experience and to ensure they are prepared for fast-changing business scenarios.

“Although more than 60% of client organizations leverage the DLP and email encryption capabilities of an SEG, there can still be a need for specialist products,” reads the guide. “Particularly for customer-facing use cases in which a frictionless experience is critical.”

And getting it right is important for organizations looking to offer best-in-class email security. As the most-commonly used attack vector for both opportunistic and targeted attacks, business email remains a critical vulnerability for many organizations – a figure which is only increasing.

ECHOWORX AWARDED FSQS CERTIFICATION

Financial services gain pre-validated compliance assurance to Echoworx email data protection services and solutions.

TORONTO – As an industry leader in message encryption, Echoworx is proud to announce that we’ve been awarded Financial Services Qualification System (FSQS) certification – a single compliance-audited list of third-party security providers trusted by a community of leading UK banks, insurance and financial institutions.

Echoworx’s earned FSQS-qualified supplier status validates our organization as a trusted supplier of cloud-based email data protection solutions for large enterprise banks, insurance providers and leading financial institutions.

To qualify, Echoworx must demonstrate annual compliance with a stringent rubric of FSQS guidelines through a series of audits designed to assess inherent risk across key areas –cybersecurity, data privacy, information security, business continuity, legal and corporate responsibility.

The supplier information provider by the FSQS pre-qualification system helps procurement, legal and buying teams reduce the time-consuming – and often duplicated – process of collecting third-party compliance and assurance information.

The result is a single one-stop digital buying experience for large organizations searching for trusted security solutions pre-vetted by the FSQS community of leading UK financial, insurance and banking organizations – including , among others: Clydesdale Bank, Santander, Lloyds Banking Group, NFU Mutual, AIB, Bank of England, Nationwide Building Society and Royal Sun Alliance, among others.

“We are extremely pleased to be included in the FSQS-accredited community of business leaders,” says Michael Ginsberg, CEO of Echoworx.  “Given the due diligence already undertaken through FSQS, this gives organizations in the financial sector easier streamlined access to our OneWorld cloud-based email security platform.”

Registered FSQS suppliers are instantly recognizable by their distinct pink and grey Hellios-issued FSQS certificate. Issued and renewed annually by Hellios, a UK-based external partner appointed by FSQS stakeholders to collect and administer data for the FSQS program.

In addition to its new FSQS certification, Echoworx is also a proud member of several other industry-recognized security programs. See a full listing of Echoworx security assurance and certifications here.

ECHOWORX’s ENHANCED MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION IMPROVES CYBERSECURITY WITH USER-FOCUSED DESIGN

Clumsy and nonintuitive user interfaces can increase security risks

TORONTO – Echoworx, the industry leader in message encryption, today unveiled enhancements to its OneWorld cloud-based security platform with the addition of user-centric two-factor authentication (2FA), enabling enterprises of all sizes to adopt best-in-class security protocols while improving user experience.

“Enterprises, customers and employees want the enhanced security that multi-factor authentication provides,” said Chris Peel, Echoworx Vice President Customer Engineering. “But non-intuitive and cumbersome interfaces can make MFA unappealing for customers or can even make them resistant to cybersecurity. By enhancing user experience, you also improve security.”

MFA isn’t new. In the pre-digital world, financial institutions required several physical ID cards to open accounts, bank machine users needed both a physical card and an individual PIN, and institutions would require clients to choose security questions. But passwords can be weak and security questions – such as “what is your mother’s maiden name?” – can be easily cracked.

Such issues with security and usability led to more consumer-driven user experiences, led by major firms such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon. The Echoworx OneWorld platform provides a cost-effective scalable solution for firms seeking email data protection with more robust and user-friendly multi-factor security.

“Security isn’t just a matter of engineering, it’s also a matter of design,” said Echoworx Senior Director Market Intelligence Jacob Ginsberg. “Our intuitive email encryption platform and enhanced multifactor authentication allows enterprises of all sizes to affordably provide secure online interactions, and by putting user experience at the forefront, they simultaneously improve data protection and accelerate adoption.”

Rising cybersecurity risks have encouraged firms to adopt practices that suit a “Zero Trust” environment in which the best-practice is to never automatically trust and always verify. This has made multi-factor authentication a cybersecurity essential and led to user-centric platforms becoming a key differentiator between firms.

Echoworx’s scalable, easy to use, and configurable cloud security and email encryption solutions, have been adopted by firms of all sizes in more than 30 countries and 26 languages. Echoworx’s senior members will be at the Nordic Cyber Security Summit in Copenhagen to meet with clients, answer press inquiries, and speak with industry influencers.

Echoworx Expands European Footprint With Nordic Language Support

Nordic CEOs See Cybersecurity as #1 Risk to Growth

TORONTOEchoworx, the industry leader in message encryption, today introduced full support for Nordic languages, further facilitating adoption of its world-class email security solutions in one of the world’s most dynamic centres of technology innovation.

“The Nordic countries have long been leaders for tech innovation, giving us household names like Philips, Nokia, Skype, and Spotify,” said Echoworx Senior Director Market Intelligence Jacob Ginsberg. “With a population of less than 30 million, the Nordics punch well above their weight and have been an outstanding breeding ground for innovative startups and billion-dollar unicorns.”

In spite of this vibrant tech community, Nordic economies remain dominated by more-traditional industry titans, from oil and gas to logistics and shipping. Only six per cent of Nordic cloud-service start-ups are security based, meaning that firms need global expertise providers to fill legacy gaps.

Nordic firms see cybersecurity as increasingly essential, and are looking to adopt world-class services. Among Nordic CEOs, 65 per cent believe cyberattacks are a question of ‘when’ as opposed to ‘if’, and 72 per cent see information security as a potential competitive advantage.

“Cybersecurity is a specialist area, with new threats emerging daily,” said Ginsberg. “With best-in-class cloud encryption, responsive local support, and native-language functionality, companies are better able to dedicate more attention to innovation and focus on their core businesses.”

While Nordic firms are globally focused and multilingual, people are most comfortable conducting business, banking and other serious transactions in native languages. Even subtle differences in spelling, pronunciation or context can lead to confusion and security risk.

ECHOWORX EXPANDS EU REACH WITH NEW GERMAN DATA CENTRE

TORONTO – Echoworx is pleased to announce the opening of their new data centre in Germany. This move further entrenches Echoworx’s presence and competitive edge within the EU region.

Known for its proven manufacturing industries, from automotive to pharmaceutical, established financial core and growing industries, like cybersecurity and tech, Germany is an unofficial economic leader within the EU region. And, with new country-specific regulations spurred by the launch of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) last spring, the timing could not be better.

While the GDPR is a blanket term across the EU region, implementation varies from country to country. And, when it comes to data residency, nearly every German company demands their data remain within German borders. Both domestic and international companies looking to do business in Germany need to have access to German-hosted data centres to effectively compete.

“Knowing where and how data is stored is important when looking for a third-party partnership under new privacy regulations like the GDPR. When data starts to leave a protected zone, for example, the regulations still apply. Having access to a data centre within a target region, like Germany in this case, offers competitive advantages,” says Alex Loo, VP Operations at Echoworx.

To accommodate all business needs, in addition to their new German location, Echoworx currently has data centres in Canada, the US, Mexico, the UK and Ireland. All Echoworx data centres are specifically engineered with the highest standards in-mind to protect data and ensure regulatory compliance is met for specific geographic areas.

Echoworx is dedicated to offering enterprise businesses encryption solutions which work. The Echoworx OneWorld encryption platform features multiple secure delivery methods, a seamless end-to-end encryption experience and multiple branding and language options. The Echoworx system is specifically tailored for conducting international business, whether in Europe or abroad.
